Nursing & Midwifery Education Unit 

Placement Coordinator – Part-Time (32 hours per fortnight)

About the role

An opportunity exists within the Education Unit (Nursing and Midwifery) as Placement Coordinator working within the undergraduate student nursing portfolio. This role will work closely with the Early Career Lead to make sure all sites are meeting the benchmarks for Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Framework (BPCLE), compliance with all policies and procedures as it relations to clinical placements and Department of health compliance and reporting.  

  • Work closely with the partnered Education Providers to support the establishment and maintenance of partnerships, including organising the necessary administrative arrangements to formalise a partnership
  • Utilise highly developed communication skills as well as staff management and program management skills
  • Travel within the Grampians Health region to support staff

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the clinical placement team across Grampians Health in collaboration with the Early Career Lead to support Clinical Nurse Educators- Undergraduate programs and Clinical Placement Facilitators.
  • Be Responsible for management and professional development reviews of all reporting staff
  • Rostering management and leave approval in collaboration with the Early Career Lead
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders
  • Be prepared to be required to Deputised for Early Career Lead during times of leave.

Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registered with the AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications in Education or Training
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others
  • Understanding of education frameworks including BPCLE, Student Induction Protocol, and internal Grampians Health policies and procedures as it relates.
  • Experience working within the healthcare setting, well-developed understanding of clinical placement planning, GH student support model and Student Induction Protocol
  • Understanding of Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Framework (BPCLE) and how it relates to clinical placement.
