Job Description

 🌟 The Role: Placement Coordinator

As Placement Coordinator, you will spend your day working with students in preparation for their time in the field. This means building personal relationships, conducting placement orientation, reaching out to support students while on placement and helping them stay organised so they are compliant and prepared to represent the University within their placement agency.

Responsibilities

  • Managing all student-related aspects of placement for our online master’s programs to ensure overall student success in the program.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of our Partners’ curriculum and programs and clearly explain to students and potentially clinical partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students to promote solid retention through the pre and during placement portion of the student lifecycle 
  • Work with the Student Success, University and other relationships to promote an efficient and communicative workplace.
  • Identify and assess concerns related to placement experience; facilitate appropriate intervention with Faculty and Program Coordinators.
  • Serve as a role model for faculty, staff, and students in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Use relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
  • Monitor and aid in assessing student progress throughout placement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of student compliance records.
  • Create and maintain accurate reports and up-to-date records using University and other relevant software.
  • Work closely within a close-knit team environment and coordinate communication between industry and students and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

👥 Who We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Allied health or social services field highly advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of successful demonstration of customer service skills (prior student advising skills helpful).
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of or experience working in allied health or social services field directly with or for providers is advantageous.
  • Strong presentations skills and the ability to develop relationships via phone and in-person are vital.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, reporting back to a team.
  • Confidence using technology (Microsoft Suite, Records Management, ZOOM or CRM’s), or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Adaptability and flexibility with managing completing tasks at any given time.
  • Experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
