About the role
Situated at our Mt Beauty office in the Victorian Alpine Region, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Planning and Permits Manager and People Leader for our Hydro Generation Assets.
Mt. Beauty offers access to outstanding winter and summer sports such as skiing and mountain biking along with quality educational and health infrastructure. The region surrounded by the picturesque Alpine National Park offers a way of life that is appealing to both individuals and families.
As part of the Renewables Senior Leadership Team, this role reports directly to the Head of Hydro and will be accountable for leading and overseeing all aspects of Planning, Scheduling, Permitting and Isolation.
Success in this role will come from your strong leadership experience and a motivation to bring the best out of your team. You'll bring a sound technical and/or Engineering background & heavy industrial Planning and scheduling experience.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for ensuring planning activities and safe energy control processes are achieved through effective leadership including:
- Maintain Australia's largest privately-owned hydroelectricity assets.
- Ensure Schedulers and Planners deliver the maintenance strategies as per the Asset Maintenance Plan.
- Ensure the Permit to Work and Isolation teams provide safe plant access that is compliant with AGL's safe systems of work for the execution of plant works..
- Lead and oversee performance of the Technical Compliance Program.
- Provide high level strategic advice and support to the Hydro Senior Leadership Team on the development, implementation, management, and reporting of planning activities, maintenance strategies, permitting, switching, isolations, and outage processes.
- Leading the Hydro mobile plant fleet, procurement and inventory functions.
What you'll bring to the table
- Relevant qualifications in engineering or trades would be an asset. Demonstrated experience in a Planning and scheduling role within a heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to provide leadership to multiple teams working at remote sites and conducting varied tasks.
- Good planning skills to effectively coordinate and implement both long and short term works programs.
- An understanding of Safe Access Rules Procedures.
- High-level experience in the operation of computerised maintenance management systems, preferably SAP.
- Written and IT skills to prepare technical and administrative records/reports in a clear, concise manner.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to enable successful liaison at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Good commercial acumen and sound negotiation skills are highly regarded.
