We have a unique opportunity for a dynamic full-time Workforce Planning Manager to join our Food & Beverage Department, ensuring we have the right talent in the right place at the right time to achieve our business objectives and future needs.
As the Workforce Planning Manager, you will align MRC’s casual workforce with our strategic goals by analysing current capabilities, forecasting future needs, developing plans to optimize staffing, and minimising talent gaps. You will oversee the Workforce Planning and Rostering team, including part-time and casual staff, across our three racecourses: Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown, and Mornington.

What will your responsibilities be?
- Oversee the Workforce Planning and Rostering team.
- Identify new opportunities to maximise profitability and improve the staffing experience.
- Ensure cost-effective labour management at all times.
- Develop budget strategies aimed at either revenue maximisation or cost reduction.
- Provide expertise to commercial stakeholders in ensuring correct levels of staffing for all event types.
- Ensure recruitment, training, and staffing are at the required levels at all times.
- Lead project planning of new technologies and systems across the F&B department to enhance the staffing function.
- Development of staff skills with a particular focus on service and service recovery.
Skills & Experience
- Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead a team of Workforce Planning professionals.
- Strong experience in Workforce Planning methodologies, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and gap analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excels in pressurised environments and works well to deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to an excellent customer service experience.
- Proficiency in using Workforce Planning software, HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), and other analytical tools to support data-driven decision-making and forecasting.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Driver’s Licence.
- Flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends.
