As the Manager, Planning and Reporting - Sustainability, you'll be instrumental in helping us achieve our sustainability goals at Kmart Group, where our vision is to create a 'people and planet positive' value chain by 2035.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Sustainability, you'll spearhead our sustainability program, overseeing strategic planning, meticulous reporting, and comprehensive program management. Drawing on your expertise in external sustainability reporting, you'll champion transparency and accountability, reinforcing our commitment to Sustainability at Kmart Group.

What you'll be doing:

As Manager, Planning and Reporting, you will:

  • Design robust reporting frameworks to analyze data and monitor progress.
  • Utilize your analytical prowess to interpret data and provide actionable insights to drive strategy development and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives forward and achieve impactful results.
  • Lead sustainability projects from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational sustainability goals.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner, using numbers as a tool for communication.
  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive calendar of sustainability initiatives, including managing its execution and evaluating impact.
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders to enhance our sustainability reporting efforts and foster transparency.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or Environmental Management.
  • Experience and understanding of Planning and strategy setting processes - using data to inform actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing sustainability programs, preferably within the energy or retail industry, demonstrating deep technical expertise in priority materials such as textiles and plastics
  • Experience with emissions reporting protocols and emissions inventory development is highly valued.
  • Self-driven and ambitious mindset, combined with a genuine passion for sustainability.
  • Proficient project management abilities enabling effective tracking of outcomes and achievement of results.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, adept at communicating technical content to diverse audiences.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability and driving positive change.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging senior management and delivering executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Experience in working with diverse, multinational project teams, with international and cross-cultural exposure highly valued.
  • Competency handling data in Microsoft Excel is expected, experience working in Power BI or equivalent highly valued.
