UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are looking for a high performing Planning & Logistics Manager to join our $2.3 billion New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project team based at our purpose-built maintenance facility in Kangy Angy on the NSW Central Coast. This role will be offered as permanent fulltime.
The NIF project will oversee the replacement of trains carrying customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. UGL will operate a new maintenance facility and provide maintenance and asset management services to the new fleet for 15 years.
About your role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Planning & Logistics Manager is responsible for the management of planning and delivery of maintenance works for the NIF Project and support the management of the customers’ requests including attribution and reporting to the customer.
Other key responsibilities will include:
- Plan maintenance activities for the train, Maintenance Facility Equipment and Maintenance Facility Buildings including overhauls, modification and refurbishment works
- Manage all train movements within the Maintenance Facility, including pick-up and drop-off of trains at the handover/hand-back points.
- Coordinate train requests and positioning for maintenance with the operator and Train Maintenance Delivery Managers to meet operations and maintenance requirements
- Support and respond to customer requests including the attribution process, monthly, annual reports and adhoc requests
About you
- Experience in a procurement, supply chain or subcontract coordinator role, including negotiation of contracts, contract management and dispute resolution, within project parameters
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business, certificate in professional logistician (CTL) or equivalent including Diploma in Project Management and or Buissness.
- Understanding of a maintenance and asset management systems and processes
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Experience gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
