About the Position:
The Planning Officer will be responsible for providing professional and objective advice and information to Council, owners, developers and other key stakeholders related to land use planning and development within the Shire.
This includes providing high level of customer service with general inquiries, planning application, approval and amendments. In addition, you will be required to contribute to council policies, agenda report writing and statutory processing of subdivision referrals and clearances.

This is a permanent full-time position with an immediate start. Standard working hours Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 4:30 pm Rostered Day Off accruals.
About You:
The preferred candidate will have sound knowledge of statutory planning processes and procedures, demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the Directorate by being a team player with the capacity to implement or work within the relevant plans, policies and programs. In addition, you will have highly developed time management, negotiation, research and verbal and written communications skills.
Previous experience in a similar position in a Local Government and exposure to regional planning issues would be desirable. A tertiary qualification on any of the relevant fields would also be highly regarded.
