Position:Plant Accountant
My client is a leading mining services company and they are seeking a highly motivated Plant Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
This role offers the opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of a plant, supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Process all plant-related financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date plant fixed asset records.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and other financial reports as required.
- Assist with the preparation of the plant budget and forecasts.
- Interface with internal departments (operations, maintenance, etc.) to ensure all financial information is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to all company accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA designation a plus).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a plant accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Proven experience with accounting software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
