Following an exciting period of growth, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a PM Logistics Coordinator to join our Enfield Distribution team.
Reporting to the Distribution Manager - Sydney, this role collaborates with our transport and logistics stakeholders to execute on time delivery and service outcomes for our customer partners. We are looking for team member whose broad operational experience in all aspects of transport and logistics operations has driven them into a leadership role.
In joining the Enfield Distribution team, you will be responsible for operational leadership for our nightshift-based Driver team at our Enfield Distribution facility. Hours of work are typically 9pm to 5am, Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing leadership and guidance to the driver team.
- Assessing driver performance.
- Resolving day-to-day Driver challenges and monitoring driver operations as first point of contact for any driver issues.
- Scheduling drivers to cover unplanned absences and coordinating routes.
- Training new driver hires.
- Relief MR Driver responsibilities (as required).
- Monitoring, logging and investigating all driver incidents.
- Ensuring prestart driver inspections are completed daily and ensuring vehicles remain in safe working order.
- Cultivating a culture of excellence in both work and safetyand ensuring adherence to both company and industry safety policies and procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Driver operations processes and streamline fleet productivity and efficiency.
- Scheduling of afterhours fleet repairs, maintenance, and servicing as required.
- Ensuring rigorous compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Laws and CoR (Chain of Responsibility) procedures and guidelines.
- Resolving day-to-day delivery challenges and queries by communicating with customers and internal stakeholders; and
- Maintaining accurate records using appropriate systems.
Providing safety leadership which focuses on a healthy working environment for all team members and contractors, through work conditions, equipment and safe systems of work is the highest priority.
Complying with relevant statutory obligations, standards, and approved codes of practice, including a critical focus on Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements for all work activities is core to the role.
What we are looking for:
- Current MR or HR Drivers Licence (essential);
- Transport and logistics operational experience, including MR or HR multidrop driving experience ideally within an FMCG organisation;
- High level of organisational skills, ability to analyse information, make appropriate decisions and problem-solve in a fast paced, time critical environment;
- High degree of commitment to chain of responsibility (COR) and safety;
- Ability to build rapport with peers through great communication (both written and verbal) and role modelling behaviour;
- High degree of attention to detail;
- Good understanding of Quality and food safety requirements;
- Ability to use a computer and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
- Flexibility to support 24/6 operations, when required.
