About the Role
The Policy Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective development, review, and implementation of policies within the organization. Specifically, they focus on maintaining Parkerville’s Quality System (PQS) while providing high-quality policy advice. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
The position report to the Senior Research, Policy, and Project Officer position.
This will be offered on a Fixed Term 6-month contract, part time, at our Midland location.
As a Policy Officer, your duties and responsibilities will be:
- In collaboration with the Senior Policy and Research Officer, assist in the development, review, and analysis of strategic and operational policies, legislative instruments, standards, procedures, guidelines, reports, and submissions related to Parkerville’s operations and governance.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of sector wide policy initiatives.
- Contribute to high-quality policy advice on contentious and emerging issues.
- Establish and continually improve Parkerville’s Quality System including the PQS online environment.
- Conduct research and analyse data to inform the development of policies and advice.
In order to be successful for this role, the applicant will have:
- Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline AND/OR extensive experience in policy/business development ideally in the community / health / for purpose sector;
- Proven ability to develop policy and manage a quality system through the preparation, review and development or policy, processes and other controls.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations and guidelines to service and operational support materials and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to identify risks and make recommendations.
