Why Your Role Matters:
The Data Risk Management Project (DRMP) is being undertaken by UNSW Planning & Performance to mitigate data risks identified across the University for priority action. A key element of the project is the development and implementation of an Information Governance Policy Suite, an IT Policy Suite and supporting guidance.
The Policy Officer will assist the Senior Policy Officer in developing the Policy Suites and implementing processes and resources to support its uptake by UNSW staff. The role will work closely with DRMP team members, UNSW Policy Leads, subject matter experts, and the wider university community.
The Policy Officer reports to the Senior Policy Officer and has no direct reports.
Who You Are:
Relevant tertiary qualifications with relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in the development, review, and communication of policies as well as policy management processes in a large organisation.
Experience in successful project and resources management.
Proven experience in policy drafting, review, and analysis, through high-level research.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of audiences at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
High-quality report writing skills with the ability to write for a variety of audiences, with the ability to analyse complex information and produce easy-to-read documentation.
Ability to work independently with the capacity to take responsibility, exercise judgement, and proactively address and resolve complex problems as they arise.
Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, adapt and assimilate information quickly, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
