Temporary role up to July 2024 with the possibility of extension
Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour

As a Policy Officer, you'll analyse Cabinet submissions, offer high-quality policy advice, and maintain productive networks to coordinate and influence across the Department and other Government agencies for regional outcomes. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals eager to put forward solutions and support decision-making through Cabinet to improve the well-being of regional communities and industry growth.
Work in a dynamic role where you can:
Contribute to the successful delivery of DRNSW's Cabinet program.
Provide clear advice on complex and sensitive issues, including on fascinating but potentially unfamiliar subject areas.
Collaborate on projects, supporting strategic program improvement initiatives for the Department.
Support others in the Department and other agencies to understand and influence the Cabinet process for regional outcomes by explaining processes and upcoming opportunities, liaising between key contacts and arranging briefings on critical submissions and policies.
About you
In order to be successful, you will have:
A proven background in policy, public administration, or another related field
Clear and influential communication skills (verbal and written) with attention to detail
The ability to navigate government processes
Strong project management capabilities with a customer focus
A ‘can do’ and collaborative mindset.
