We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced farm operation experts for one of our organisation’s Farm Management roles.
Farm Pride Foods Ltd is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange and a market leader in the growing, supply and processing of eggs in Australia. Our company heritage and industry leadership dates back to 1937. We are a major grower and processor of eggs and value-added egg products operating 11 company farms on the east coast and maintaining 4 major grading and processing facilities.
As an integral part of the farming team, you will have a passion for agriculture and be results driven, a self starter and motivator. The successful applicant must be prepared to be hands on, work directly with livestock, after hours and weekend work will be required.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the farm, including animal welfare/husbandry and staff management.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- the day to day management of the farm, including animal welfare/husbandry and staff management;
- monitoring and management of flock health and egg production performance;
- maintaining a safe working environment;
- administration and reporting on farm operations and flock performance;
- planning and prioritising work, achieving targets and adhering to budgets'
- ensuring performance, quality, animal welfare and cost objectives are achieved;
- maintaining and building OHS and QA programs;
- maintaining bio-security and quarantine to the highest standards;
- General repairs & maintenance and
- operating machinery.
The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:
Have a minimum of 3 years work experience working as a Poultry Farm Manager, Poultry Farm Assistant Manager or similar.
You will bring a high degree of mechanical aptitude, team orientation, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude.
Computer literacy is a necessity.
You must be able to work independently and responsibly.
Be committed to providing sustainable livestock management practices.
Demonstrate a sound understanding and ability to implement OH&S practices
