Design & Build Recruitment has partnered with one the leading renewable energy businesses in Australia, who have committed to a multi-billion investment to build major Wind, Solar, BESS and Hybrid Generation plants in the coming years.
This leading renewable energy business are looking to expand the Grid Team and bring a experienced Power System Manager in to the team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing technical direction and bring a wealth of expertise in the electrical engineering field, a proven track record of power system studies and exceptional experience with connection strategies.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Power System Manager to join a global market leader in their expansion in Australia in a diverse role working on prestige projects.
Key Responsibilities for the Power System Manager:
- Provide technical input to the power system analysis, and technical direction and guidance for connection strategies.
- Design and implement complex modelling.
- Ensure the Grid team is leading industry standards and staying up to date with the latest innovations and updates as well as managing long-term planning and defining best practices.
- Manage connection processes in line with NER and business requirements.
- Perform PSCAD modelling to assess system faults, steady state load flow, harmonics dynamic analysis in distribution and transmission systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and lead the connection workstream.
- Provide Power System Engineering advice regarding business developments, bids & operational assets etc.
- Manage Grid connections with NSP, AEMO and other regulators.
- Oversee OEM/EPC contractors commissioning tests (construction phase) including registration, R2 validation up to handover to Operations.
- Lead communications with stakeholders including AEMO & NSP’s.
- Stay up to date with industry developments including proposed regulatory changes.
- 5 + years of experience in the energy industry within the NEM in Australia.
- Relevant tertiary education in Electrical Engineering or other relevant higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in modelling Power Systems within the NEM.
- Advance knowledge of electrical Power Systems modelling and analysis tools such as PSCAD.
- Excellent communication & writing skills.
