ABOUT THE ROLE
Marvel Stadium currently serves as the busiest multi-purpose stadium in the world, welcoming over two million patrons through its gates each year. Marvel Stadium is currently undergoing a major redevelopment and when complete in mid-2023, the stadium will feature a revitalised eastern and southern entry points, including a new 'Town Square' transforming the space into a seven-day-a-week, open and accessible area to gather Monday to Sunday or when attending a sporting event or concert.
The Precinct Operations Manager will oversee the coordination of all this activity and play the key role in connecting the major stakeholders from contracting the event through to delivery and execution.
The Precinct Events Operations Manager will also work closely with the Stadium Partnerships, Sales and Operations teams in supporting stadium and major events in the seamless and successful delivery of arena events at the stadium namely with a focus on activations and overlay that take place external to the Stadium throughout the Precinct.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Work with Stadium Precinct Commercial Manager to develop and plan owned and straight hire event content to the Stadium ensuring all Commercial and Operational targets are met and considered
- Manage Major Event activation and overlay requirements and activities at designated events
- Manage relationship with Stadium and Event partners on Precinct Events where required
- Accurate, timely and professional end to end management and coordination of precinct and/ or stadium events, including activations by stadium tenants, hirers and commercial partners
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stadium departments, venue hirers, suppliers, and contractors across catering, security, cleaning, digital, AV and others as required
- Prepare accurate, timely and detailed event documents, including floorplans to deliver success across the event phases of pre, during and post
- As required assume the role of Chief Warden/ Deputy Chief Warden and form part of the Emergency Management Team
- Develop and improve stadium operating policies and procedures, with a focus on any gaps due to the introduction of new stadium features, spaces, or amenities
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Core Competencies:
- 5+ years’ experience in Event Management, Precinct Operations and Stadium Operations.
- Sound commercial acumen and the ability to manage and exceed targets in an event P and L.
- Strong knowledge of venue operations including staffing, security, facilities, ticketing, cleaning, catering, and merchandising
- Sound understanding of Emergency Management and OHS requirements
- Proven results in delivering highly effective communication across all formats and platforms
- Effective workforce management to support a high functioning and results driven team
- A strong service mindset with a focus on service excellence
