The Principal Advisor, Strategy and Governance is a vital role within an outcome focused team that drives exemplary strategic management, corporate governance, risk and audit management, and legal services to the QAS. The role of Principal Advisor is responsible for ensuring contemporary, governance and risk focused strategic management practices, and effective audit liaison across the QAS. The role also provides a high level of support to the Executive Manager and Director.
The position is also required to work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to drive best practice strategic management, governance, risk, and audit liaison services, to assist the QAS in delivering better outcomes to the Queensland community.

• Whilst not mandatory, possession of relevant tertiary, or postgraduate qualification/s will be highly regarded.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Demonstrated high level research, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the proven ability to successfully apply them to complex issues concerning strategic governance, strategic management, risk management, organisational policy development, business performance and improvement.
• Demonstrated high level of understanding and knowledge of contemporary, best practice methodologies in the areas of public sector governance, with a particular focus on audit, risk and committee management and business management process design.
• Demonstrated high level ability to provide effective management advisory services within the context of a 24/7 frontline health service delivery organisation.
• Demonstrated high level of applied knowledge of the concepts, strategies and issues associated with public sector corporate governance and management, and the demonstrated skills to provide high quality advice and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated high level ability to manage competing priorities and work independently within strict timeframes to drive the effective conduct of a varied program of work, relevant to a frontline service delivery agency.
• High level of skill in communicating, consulting and negotiating at organisational levels, and in cultivating effective and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
