QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State. We manage the State’s funding program in the global capital markets to deliver sustainable and cost-effective borrowings for the Queensland Government, local governments, and other related entities (our clients).

Purpose of Role
At Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC), our Advisory Division is on a mission to drive financial sustainability and operational excellence across Queensland’s Government Departments, Local Governments, and Government-Owned Corporations. As a vital part of our Advisory Division’s Investment Team, you’ll collaborate with the Central Agencies to execute government investments across diverse sectors. Your work will directly contribute to better financial and economic outcomes for Queensland. Join us in shaping a brighter future!
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Deliver strategic, financial and commercial advice through internal teams and/or externally sourced partnerships and providers.
- Provide high quality written reports and analysis for advisory assignments to support government decision making.
- Supporting the portfolio lead and team members on developing investment pipeline and strategic projects.
- Contribute to delivery of the Team, Group and Corporate KPIs.
- Contribute to team effectiveness and collaborating across portfolio areas within the Investment, Industry and Commercial Group.

Qualifications
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline required for professional roles.
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 to 10 years employment experience in roles that demonstrate overall competency.
- Mid to senior level experience in areas such as corporate finance, feasibility studies, due diligence and transaction structuring.
- Relationship management skills including the proven ability to develop partnerships with clients and internal teams.
- Skills in negotiating and facilitating discussions in a variety of situations.
- Excellent report writing, financial analysis and PowerPoint skills.
- Engaging and persuasive communication style.
- Critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose situations and develop creative solutions.
- Demonstrate understanding of government agencies and government investments.
Desirable
- Experience working in consulting or advisory services.
- Experience working in commercial transactions and structuring.
