As a Principal Environmental Consultant and MarketSector Lead - Resources, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the Western Australian and Commonwealth regulatory framework and technical elements of environmental approvals and management with a focus on the mining and resources industry. You will have extensive experience in the delivery of complex environmental impact assessment and approvals projects, particularly in the mining and resources sector from both a technical and commercial perspective. This is a dual role where you will be active in the technical delivery of projects and in supporting the growth and development of our team as a Principal Consultant in the Planning and Environmental Approvals Team. You will also drive business development as the local Market Sector Lead - Resources with a focus on mining and resources. The role is based in our brand-new Perth office where you will work alongside our team of environmental professionals with experience ranging for recent graduates to over 20 years in the industry. The Perth team is part of a national planning and environmental approvals practice enabling you to work on projects across Australia with our 250 strong environmental solutions business. We offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement to promote work-life balance and the role can be full time or part time to suit your needs. You will take an active role in: Deliver high quality environmental impact assessments, management plans and approvals documentation across a range of industries. Overseeing the effective planning and execution of complex projects. You will provide technical guidance to support other on such projects as well as perform client-facing roles. Providing technical guidance for mid-level and junior staff in order to support the successful execution of projects. You will seek to provide mentoring to more junior staff in relation to the broad skills required of a consultant, both technical and 'soft'er skills. Providing guidance and direction on complex pursuits. As Market Sector Lead - Resources you will work closely with our Resources Hub, the Jacobs Growth & Sales team and the Environmental Solutions ANZ leadership team to develop and implement the Environmental Solutions ANZ components of Jacobs growth plan for the market. You will drive client engagement with resource clients across the region to realise growth opportunities for our performance unit and for Jacobs. You will identify market drivers impacting our clients and the associated opportunities for Jacobs in the sector, advising the Environmental Solutions ANZ leadership team on strategies to realise these opportunities. Here's what you'll need: The role requirements include tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering, planning or a related discipline, 12 years industry experience, a good understanding of HSEC requirements and industry approaches, and a valid driver's licence. You will be required to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Western Australian and Commonwealth regulatory framework and technical elements of environmental approvals and management. You will have extensive experience in the delivery of complex environmental impact assessment and approvals projects from both a technical and commercial perspective. You will have the drive and the capability to develop and grow client relationships with our current and prospective clients in the resource industry and a strategic mindset to identify and convert opportunities.
