As the Principal Management Accountant, you will be working in a complex area with large volumes of data while providing critical support around financial performance, budget management and funding to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the department's external budget process.
- Undertake a lead role in the state budget, funding allocations, budgeting principles and system configuration.
- Provide high-level strategic advice to support critical areas and senior managers around management reporting, governance and proposals.
- Manage the development, co-ordination, consultation and finalisation of the annual Budget Papers.
- Liaise with other agencies including Queensland Treasury on the preparation of annual financial statements, accounting policies and methodologies, audit reports and audit recommendations.
- CPA or CA
- The ideal candidate will have recent TRIDATA experience and Finance One.
- Experience working in a similar position across within government or large commercial role preferred.
- Extensive experience in management accounting and financial reporting demonstrated in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including proficiency in Excel, Power Bi and financial modelling.
