Form of workThe successful appointee will be assigned to work with our Policelink and Police Communications' teams initially undertaking a major project to develop and implement innovative risk management processes and programs for these specialised working groups. You will apply your well-developed skills in WHS management systems and operations to support improvements across the breadth of QPS's WHS functions. As an experienced and skilled practitioner, you will effectively partner with stakeholders and lead your team to innovate and lift safety performance and capability to deliver outcomes leading to legacy benefits.

What will be your legacy? The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Lead a team to plan, design and operationalise Health and Safety functions within the QPS.
- Contribute to strategic planning in line with organisational goals relating to work, workplace and worker Health and Safety.
- Plan, formulate, develop, implement, and monitor work Health and Safety management system and performance standards which establish compliance with relevant legislation.
- Research, develop and implement systems and initiatives, practices and policies relating to work Health and Safety to support the corporate Health and Safety management system framework.
- Develop documentation, including executive briefs, policies, procedures, reports, staff communications and review proposals on work Health and Safety issues and initiatives.
