This is an exciting and rare opportunity to lead the Work Health and Safety function across a diverse and large Automotive and Agricultural Group.
Aligning with CMV’s number #1 core value Safety First, this diverse role will lead a team to improve safety outcomes for this growing business. In conjunction with two WHS Advisors you will lead the development and execution of the Group’s Health and Safety strategy, including the creation and maintenance of an integrated WHS system.

Key requirements of the role
- Initially, drive the achievement of Self Insurance in South Australia
- Promote a positive and dynamic safety culture, where companywide engagement in a safety first environment is high
- Promote and lead the development of psychosocial safety outcomes in conjunction with P&C Department
- Promote injury rehabilitation and return to work
- Ensure all legislative requirements are met
- Ensure the ongoing professional growth of direct reports further underpinning the quality of the safety advice they provide to employees and managers.
- Report quarterly to the CMV Group Board on WHS matters.
- Act as a lead committee member on the Board WHS Committee
- Present to Senior Management including the CMV Board on safety related issues
- Act as a technical advisor to the Site-Specific WHS Committees where appropriate.
- Engage and consult with leaders and managers to drive awareness of, and improvements in, health and safety.
- Undertake health and safety research projects, reports, analysis and presentations.
- Undertake serious incident investigations as required
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in a health and safety (or related) field
- 5+ years experience in a health, safety and wellbeing role
- Experience dealing with external parties, including Regulators
- Experience in the Self-Insured space would be valued
- Ability to influence key stakeholders
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Sound computer skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement
