Principal House Officer / Registrar - Fixed Term Temporary up to 2 years - hours negotiable
The role Registrar / Principal House Officer involves provision of emergency and inpatient medical services under the supervision of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO): in-patient (acute and long-stay), outpatient and emergency. Telehealth services reduce the need for patient travel.
The local multi-disciplinary team is supplemented by visiting specialist medical, dental, nursing, and allied health services from Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS), Non-Government Organisations and Private Providers. The role will also involve supervision and teaching for junior medical staff and medical students.
Remuneration package of up to $189,592 p.a. (+ other applicable allowances/benefits) comprising salary range of $125,808 - $145,865 p.a.* (L4 - L9), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development assistance (leave and vocational training subsidy), and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).

Requirements
Degree Qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current Registration as a medical practitioner or eligible for Current Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
The role will participate in the On-Call roster.
The successful applicant will be required to possess a C class motor vehicle licence.
Travel: from time to time this position may be required to travel to and work at other facilities located within the THHS network in order to participate in quality, training or outreach services. This may involve day and or overnight stays. Advanced notice of this travel will be communicated. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
