This is a role within Group Technology but with direct impact on all Group customers. The Web & Mobile Platform Crew is focusing on uplifting customers trust and experience through delivery of modern and seamless identity capabilities for digital channels. As a Principal Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to join a number of initiatives and be focused on designing, building and deploying innovative technology solutions in the customer identity and access management space that will enable us to build tomorrow's bank, today for our customers

We’re interested in hearing from people who

• Own the design process of innovative technical solutions to solve strategic business problems related to security and customer identity and access management.
• Design and work hand-in-hand with our team of engineers and architects as we build and deploy multiple technology solutions that you’ll help them define, design and create.
• Support the definition of reference architectures to ensure the future strategic alignment with internal models (e.g. BIAN) and industry identity standards (e.g OAuth 2, OIDC, FIDO, CIBA, FAPI2, ABAC, RBAC & OPA).
• Can partner with the Group’s enterprise and data architecture community to leverage their patterns throughout your system and solution designs.
• Can share knowledge and Influence at executive level the future of the Group's technology estate.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot issues related to identity and access management.
• Are able to work independently while influencing stakeholders at various levels.

Tech skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Have designed large scale IDP implementations and migrations using solutions from Ping, ForgeRock, or similar.
• Have designed large scale Fine-grained, policy-based authorization implementations using solutions from Ping, Axiomatics, PlainID, Styra or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Ping products such as PingFederate, PingAccess & PingDirectory is highly regarded.
• Understand authentication & authorisation standards (OAuth 2.0 and OIDC), and can explain them to other engineers
• Solid understanding of CIAM principles and related protocols including but not limited to SSO, SAML, LDAP, OAuth, OIDC and FIDO.
• Designed and worked with engineering teams to deliver technology solutions that solve complex business and technology problems from start to finish
• Worked closely with Architecture design the best possible solution for our customers
• Contribute with and support the creation of reference architectures and roadmaps and
• Worked in agile delivery models in BigTech or traditional organisations
