Join us as a Procedural Ledger Billing Officer and step into a vital role that revolves around maintaining precise and current patient records within our healthcare organisation. Your responsibilities will include meticulous entry of Procedural Ledger data into the patient management and billing system, ensuring not only data integrity but also compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Accurately input patient procedural information such as MBS item numbers, procedural times and medical devices into the electronic patient management and billing system.
- Ensure timely and error-free data entry to maintain the integrity of hospital claims.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of medical terminology MBS Schedule, Prescribed List of Medical Devices and Human Tissue Products and Private Health Insurance contracts.
- Strictly adhere to privacy and confidentiality regulations when handling patient information
- Identify and rectify errors or discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in all our records.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices for medical devices and consumables used from consignment stock.
- Verify information by checking medical records when necessary, ensuring its accuracy.
- Provide valuable assistance to the Patient Billing team during high workloads or leave of absence.

Our ideal candidate possesses experience in healthcare administration and/medical/hospital billing and meets the following requirements:
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in using electronic management and billing systems and Microsoft Office
- Capability to work efficiently autonomously and as a team
