Processing Supervisor

Lynas Rare Earths has a sterling opportunity for an experienced Process Supervisor at our new Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF).

In the final stages of commissioning, the Kalgoorlie REPF is a key strategic platform for critical mineral production, blending pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process in an Australian first, mineral processing plant.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a safe production driven Processing Supervisor wanting to join us on our journey. You will have the opportunity to have major input into employing and motivating the Production workforce, bringing the plant online and setting up the initial operating systems.

This supervisor position is offered on a Kalgoorlie residential basis, initially working Monday to Friday during training and familiarisation, then transitioning to an even time 7 / 7 rotating roster of day and night shift as the plant comes online.

You will be Responsible for:

• The day-to-day management of the processing plant with a team of process technicians as direct reports
• Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and that the plant is run to Lynas standards
• Identifying and implementing safety and production improvements
• Completing suitable investigations into any incidents that occur
• Ensuring operational readiness of the plant from a production and operating perspective
• Assist with initial commissioning of the plant
• Planning training and diversification of skills for your crew
• Develop, implement and maintain fit for purpose operating procedures and strategies
• Take ownership of plant performance post commissioning and achieve ramp up targets
• Providing support, guidance and direction to your team

Required skills and experience:

• Demonstrated experience in a processing plant environment, leading operating teams or extensive experience at the step up supervisor level and looking to move into a fulltime role
• Unwavering approach to safety leadership
• Ability to build relationships with key stake holders such as maintenance, technical and environment personnel to ensure compliant optimum plant performance
• Strong desire to take ownership in ensuring the plant start up is a success
• Prior experience in operational readiness and/or commissioning beneficial
• Extensive experience in an operational processing plant environment
• Control room, Isolation, and/or Permit to Work operational experience
• Prior experience with the operation of heavy mobile machinery (fork lift, telehandler, skid steer, overhead crane)
• Unwavering approach to safety
• Strong time management and problem-solving skillsets
• Solid soft skills across the Microsoft Suite of software
• Schedule 26 (of WHS Mines Regs) training
• Relevant High Risk Work License
• Minimum WA unencumbered C class drivers’ license, or above
• Must reside within the Goldfields region for our residential operation.
