Public sector specialists Osborne Richardson are looking for an experienced Procurement Advisor to join our team at the State Government Department in Nerang for an exciting 12-month contract opportunity!
We're seeking a skilled procurement specialist to provide invaluable advice and support in procurement activities across the South Coast Region of Queensland.
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing infrastructure and goods and service procurement in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Overseeing end-to-end procurement processes, from planning to contract management.
- Providing expert guidance to Project Managers on contract management, supplier relationships, and negotiations.
- Enhancing procurement capabilities through tailored training sessions for Project Managers and Support Officers.
- Analysing contractual issues and devising effective solutions.
- Expertly navigating electronic tendering systems such as QTender, QBuild (eTender), and Vendor Panel, while also providing training and support on these platforms.
- Representing the interests of the South Coast Region in statewide forums.
- Advocating for best practice procurement processes and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
- Efficiently managing team inboxes and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, offering ad hoc procurement advice, and adapting to evolving needs.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, policies, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex contractual issues and propose viable solutions.
- Proficiency in electronic tendering systems such as QTender and QBuild (eTender).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
