The Procurement and Contracts Officer sits in the Procurement team and will play an integral role in supporting the Library and Learning Services business unit
The Procurement and Contract Management team monitor compliance with the ACT Government policies and guidelines through the provision of advice and assistance - monitoring procurement activities and completing compliance activities within the team
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Library and Learning Services business to develop procurement documentation and manage procurement activities (primarily RFQ processes) to support the learning areas of the institute
- Promote and apply the ACT government’s Procurement Framework, including legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures
- Work closely with delivery areas to develop procurement documentation, manage procurement activities within established timeframes
- Provide advice and support to CIT staff for Procurement and contract management activities
- Participate in strategic planning and coordination for Procurement and contract management activities
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to governance and compliance with the Government procurement framework, policies and guidelines - including procurement processes, use of systems, and application of contract risk management
- Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of Procurement and contract management guidelines, procedures and frameworks in a government context
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement and contract management activities, including an understanding of Procurement and contract administration.
- Sound judgement, negotiation and both written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to liaise effectively with staff, management and external agencies
- Tertiary qualifications, or progress towards qualifications in Procurement and Contract Management disciplines highly desirable
