Procurement Coordinator

About the Role

Main Roads is seeking a committed and results driven individual to join its Wheatbelt Region as a Procurement Coordinator based in Northam. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and high performing business team within a leading infrastructure and network management organisation.

As the Procurement Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating procurement processes for the supply of contracts to facilitate works, goods and services delivered by Main Roads in line with relevant policies, practices and procedures and relevant terms and conditions, including:

  • Coordinate the preparation of procurement documentation in consultation with regional stakeholders and liaise with regional staff to establish contract requirements to support regional construction and maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of regional tender submissions and quotations and preparation of recommendations for award.
  • Train, guide and support procurement users on relevant processes.

In addition to the above you will have some contract administration responsibilities including:

  • Reviewing service requests by users to ensure compliance to relevant commercial and contract conditions and evaluate contractor claims for payment identifying irregularities and facilitate required amendments.
  • Prepare contract documentation and manage the contract tendering process for non-complex contracts.
  • Review and report on the performance of contracts and contractors

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have a friendly and adaptable nature, be able to demonstrate that you can work autonomously, and manage to strict time frames and work as part of a team.

You will need to demonstrate sound skill, knowledge and experience in procurement practice and contract management including tender document preparation, review and advice.

Your claim review, dispute resolution and complaints management will need to be demonstrated at a high level for you to succeed in this role.

  • If applicable to you, a copy of your Diploma in Procurement and Contracting or Diploma of Contract Management or other relevant discipline.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical questionnaire and provide a current and satisfactory national police clearance prior to appointment.
