Your new role
We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Lead role within the Strategic Procurement team at Knox City Council.
The Procurement Lead is responsible for leading Council's strategic procurement and purchasing functions, policy and processes; including interpretation and advice as it pertains to policy, legal and legislative requirements. The Procurement Lead also has an operational responsibility including effective oversight of all tendering activity, development of performance indicators and probity assessments and reporting.
This is a full-time permanent role based at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna South, however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.
This is a Band 7 classified role; remuneration will be $104,630.20 - $117,345.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in procurement; development of specification, tendering and contract documents; contract administration and management; public tendering and the principles of contract law.
  • Achievement in developing and deploying technological solutions, including training and change management.
  • Experience at a senior level in line management including demonstrated well-developed people management skills, emotional intelligence and operational leadership.
  • Ability to interpret and give advice on relevant legislation, policy and other requirements.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and strengths in working with a range of stakeholders.
