DIVISION SUMMARY
The Procurement Team ensures the Distribution business runs smoothly and pharmacy customers can meet orders. Overseen by the Wholesale and Distribution General Manager and supported by the Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Customer Support teams (including Canview support) and Warehouse Management including Inventory and Warehouse Dispatch.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Procurement Manager is a key figure in the organisation, responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities. This role involves developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing daily operational supplier relationships, and ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness in the procurement of goods and services.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / TASKS
- Oversee the execution of procurement tasks, such as purchase order processing, invoice verification, and inventory management.
- Develop and lead a high-performing procurement team by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- Identify potential procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions or price fluctuations, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Generate detailed procurement reports that provide insights into spending patterns, supplier performance, and market trends. Present these reports to stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making.
- Implement and manage procurement tools and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Manage procurement information to support decision-making.
- Lead procurement projects, such as implementing a new procurement system or launching a supplier diversity program.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Develop strategies to achieve cost savings in procurement activities.
- Oversee the contract lifecycle once the negotiation has been completed and monitor and administrate the renewal or termination of contracts.
REQUIREMENTS / KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to secure advantageous terms.
- Experience in sourcing from international markets and understanding of global trade dynamics.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and other related IT systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for negotiating contracts and working with suppliers and internal teams.
- Tech savvy with advanced computer processing skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret productivity and resource management data.
HIGHLY REGARDED
- Extensive experience in procurement or a related field, especially in a leadership role, would be highly valued.
- Experience in the same industry as the company would also be advantageous.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting can also be beneficial.
