We are currently seeking a dynamic Supply & Procurement Manager to join our team and drive the sourcing of new suppliers and products.
Job Description:
As the Procurement Manager at PMX Campers & Caravans, you will play a vital role in managing our existing and new supplier base and product offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. Your strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and industry knowledge will be key to your success in this role.
Responsibilities:
▪ Review and evaluate existing purchasing strategies and supplier agreements to ensure alignment with our business needs in terms of supplier capabilities, product quality, pricing and reliability;
▪ Identify and research potential suppliers, both overseas and locally for our current and new products;
▪ Negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality assurance;
▪ Close collaboration with other units of the business including R&D, Sales & Marketing and Production/Operations to understand product requirements and market trends;
▪ Manage supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluations, and issue resolution;
▪ Conducting thorough due diligence on potential suppliers, including assessment of financial stability, production capacity, quality control processes and ethical standards;
▪ Onboarding of new suppliers to ensure initial teething issues are resolves promptly and efficiently;
▪ Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement;
▪ Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices;
▪ Optimize inventory levels and lead times through effective demand forecasting and inventory management practices;
▪ Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to drive efficiencies in the procurement process;
▪ Stay informed about relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications to ensure compliance and product quality.
Qualifications/Skills:
▪ Tertiary qualified in supply chain management, business administration or related field
▪ Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive, recreational vehicle, or outdoor industry.
▪ Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
▪ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
▪ Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier risk assessment.
▪ Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
▪ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
▪ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
▪ Flexibility to travel as needed.
