Procurement OfficerLocation: Parramatta, Sydney
Grade: 7-8Our government client is seeking a Procurement Officer to provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders in planning, developing, sourcing, and managing procurement arrangements.Primary PurposeAssist stakeholders to meet business outcomes and government directions through effective procurement.Key Accountabilities

• Validate stakeholder business needs, compile market information, and analyse markets and risks for informed procurement planning.
• Conduct sourcing activities per established policies and participate in negotiations for value-for-money procurement outcomes.
• Implement and develop contract management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance, and negotiate contract variations.
• Provide advice and guidance on procurement to ensure governance and support good practice.
• Identify, mitigate, and escalate procurement risks to maximise business opportunities.
• Maintain and update procurement records and generate compliance reports.

Key Challenges

• Explaining complex procurement processes to time-pressured business units and persuading them to adopt best practices.
• Staying updated on procurement policies, processes, legislation, and supplier markets.

Contract Term

• Location: Parramatta
• Duration: 6 months, with likely extensions
