Reporting to the Category Manager, the Procurement SpecialistEnergy and Fuels will support the delivery of category strategies, procurement projects and supplier management plans within the Energy and Fuels category which encompasses Fuels and Lubricants, Electricity, Natural Gas, Coal, Alternate Cement Kiln Fuels, and LPG. An important role within an experienced and hardworking team, the Procurement Specialist will run successful sourcing projects and tender processes for the high value Energy and Fuels category, ensuring Boral is receiving the best value from the supply market and that supply risks are managed. Interfacing broadly across the Boral business with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, this role engages across the end to end procurement process, providing guidance and support in managing suppliers.

Your day will involve:

  • Support with implementation of multi-year category plans, delivery of value benefits, sourcing, change management and supplier management plans.
  • Collaborate with the Category team and stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver value against agreed targets around savings, risk management and governance for national and regional spend.
  • Support the Category Team in managing sourcing activities and end-to-end procurement process for the programs/projects.
  • Gather, analyse, define, and document operational requirements and processes.
  • Prepare tenders, contracts and evaluation methodology documentation with input from the procurement cross-functional team, including the accurate recording of minutes of procurement meetings.
  • Facilitate contract documentation for the award and execution of the contract.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement in the procurement processes, documentation, templates, spend analytics, performance reports and buying guides for the respective spend .
What are we looking for?
  • A commercially astute and curious procurement professional with demonstrated experience running successful tender processes
  • An exposure to a related Energy and Fuels category or having an energy background will be highly regarded
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Law or Finance
  • Strong analytical skills and competency with analytical tools to interpret information and be able to provide insights/recommendations
  • Superior communication and networking skills developed from experience in a support role interfacing with multiple stakeholders
  • Advanced level skills within MS Office suite
  • A collaborative and team based approach to understanding and resolving issues
  • Exposure to the construction, building materials, infrastructure, energy or manufacturing sectors will be highly regarded
  • An actioned oriented and energetic individual who will relish the opportunity to visit operational sites to gain a deeper understanding of business needs.
