AddressRole: Product Development Engineer
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Compensation: $80,000 - 95,000 + Super
About the Role: We're in search of a New Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. You'll collaborate closely with the Research and Development Manager, contributing to the expansion of our product portfolio. As a vital member of the team, you'll oversee all phases of the Product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to production launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies to design innovative products, enriching our range of under-bench units and tapware.
- Engage with stakeholders and define precise specifications for new products.
- Innovate and ideate solutions that address market demands, transforming concepts into tangible products.
- Develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure feasibility.
- Generate technical drawings for fabrication and maintain comprehensive product documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly transition designs from concept to production.
- Interface with suppliers and external partners to facilitate the creation of manufacturable designs.
Key Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in product design and development for consumer markets.
- Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to shepherd ideas from concept to production.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A proactive approach to learning and skill development.
- Preferred experience in consumer appliance design, especially with potable water products and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and departments.
