As our new Product Development Technologist for KFC South Pacific, reporting to our Senior Innovation Development Manager, you will drive and deliver food renovation/innovation, not only including food product, but also pack design for KFC menu items, in line with the Marketing Calendar.

ABOUT YOU – OUR NEXT ORIGINAL 

• You’ll embrace our people first culture!
• Tertiary degree in Food Technology/Science or other related disciplines.
• Knowledge of Product Development, processing, quality programs and sensory evaluation. 
• Proficiency in statistical investigations and poultry manufacturing (highly regarded).
• Food Service experience with multi-unit operation and exposure to restaurant design, layout, operations and equipment is preferred. 
• Creative yet practical. Ability to develop/evaluate new concepts, new products and improve our established system, applying technical knowledge/testing standards. 
• Ability to interpret Marketing/industry information and product research.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to food safety, labelling and quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience delivering project outcomes to deadlines. 
• concise reports outlining action recommendations with full justification.
• Ability to discuss a diverse range of technical, production, field service and operational subjects with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and an ability to meet deadlines.
• Sound communication, prioritisation, and planning, organising, coaching and controlling skills.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOUR NEW ROLE

• Contribute to the food innovation program for products whilst liaising with the Marketing Department on the Marketing Calendar content/timing.
• Provide food technology support to Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance and Marketing.
• Development of new products and improvements to current products for all Meal occasions, leveraging Supplier’s capabilities with ingredients.
• Develop the Operations procedures, including the cook cycles and set points for all Meal occasions.
• Raw material evaluation/approval and specification revision including documentation of in-plant procedures/controls/specifications, in addition to packaging evaluation/approval.
• Liaise with Marketing on Technical aspects of Consumer Research on menu items.
• Contribute to future pipeline development through new ideas and new initiatives to improve innovation hit rate.
