About the role

As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a talented and highly driven Product Manager with a proven record of solving business challenges and chasing opportunities through the development of products that customers love.

The Product Manager will be part of a fast-growing team building brand-new products, platforms, and user experiences in the emerging mobility space. You will be working with the founding team and be part of the first 50 employees responsible for bringing the company’s vision to life.

As a profitable, funded startup, you will work directly with and get invaluable exposure to a breadth of roles and functions, including CEO, COO, Product Management and Engineering teams on building our core product offerings and experiences. You will also work closely with our customers and suppliers, and generally be a key contributor in ensuring that we are building delightful and meaningful products that deliver a world-class customer experience.

Responsibilities

The Product Manager operates at the centre of business, technology, and user experience, working with a cross functional team to develop products that customers love and aligns with Karmo’s vision and strategy.

As we continue to scale and grow, the Product Manager will be deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations while having the ability to balance this with strong contributions to the product vision.

  • Ensure solutions are valuable, usable, feasible, and viable, working from ideation and research through to build, test, release, and optimisation of working products
  • Build and carry influence with cross-functional team members and other stakeholders to achieve necessary business results
  • Drive and prioritise backlog items with a strong view across value, effort, and trade-off to set realistic goals
  • Champion the product strategy, create customer value, and deliver measurable business benefits all with a heavy focus on user experience
  • Create and maintain a product backlog and roadmap that clearly articulates true product benefits, metrics and KPIs, release timeframes, and key features
  • Form, influence, and evangelise the product vision to build and execute on a focused strategy and roadmap
  • Identify and fill product gaps by eliciting, gathering and harnessing new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering a cohesive and productive working environment

This opportunity is based in Brisbane, Queensland with a hybrid working structure, and open to candidates with full Australian working rights.

What you’ll do day to day

  • Identify business problems and challenges and carry these through the product lifecycle from discovery, ideation, validation, build, test, release, measure, and optimise stages.
  • Effectively write and communicate user stories with requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring the delivery team are fully brought into the user- and business-driven value each piece of work achieves
  • Work closely with the Lead Product Manager to ensure alignment and execution against the product vision and strategy
  • Work closely with key business stakeholders and customers to understand business requirements and translate them into user-centric designs and user journeys
  • Work closely with the design and engineering team in a constant feedback loop to ensure working delivery of features and functionalities
  • Work with product designers to drive product discovery and improve usability, coupled with a strong focus on delivery
  • Ensure the product roadmap, objectives, and business value are core to the daily operations of the cross-functional team
  • Conduct discovery sessions and workshops with stakeholders to effectively elicit ideas that feed into a constantly-evolving product
  • Coordinate and/or conduct go-to-market and change management activities for the of launch of new products and features
  • Analyse user feedback and activity for the continuous enhancement of user experience with the use of product analytics to optimise performance, diagnose problems, and correlate customer activity with long term value
  • Drive collaboration and facilitate interdepartmental cooperation to deliver new and existing products that customers love
  • Conduct ongoing research to stay informed about industry developments.

About you

We are looking for someone with the right level of experience in developing and building world-class products that deliver exceptional customer experiences, but also someone who is a people person and can bring a level of enthusiasm and motivation to our young and growing team.

Aside from demonstrating a match with the skills we are looking for, and a proven experience owning the responsibilities outlined, you will also have:

  • A can-do attitude and the ability to work autonomously while still being a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • At least 4 years experience in a product management role, preferably in consumer-centric, B2C or SaaS products
  • Strong proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and similar product management tools
  • Fluent in user analytics tools, including or similar to Google Analytics and Hotjar
  • A demonstrated ability to utilise a breadth of product ideation and innovation tools and techniques to generate and select ideas to bring new products and features to life
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and proven problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple streams of work simultaneously
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers and company leaders to develop constructive and collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated experience working in blended commercial, operational and technical contexts

  • Familiarity with design tools and concepts
  • Previous experience and familiarity with delivery management
  • Previous experience in start-ups or scale-ups where there is room to define and grow your role
  • Previous experience with UX-centric products and platforms

Karmo Work Style

You can expect to work with a hybrid setup of 2 days from home and 3 days in the office to conduct high bandwidth strategy sessions / team meetings / and general work collaboration. 

Note: to provide you with the best onboarding experience and set you up for success, you can expect to be in the office more frequently during your first 1-2 months.
