Our client is a leading Global Asset Manager with a sizeable presence in Asia-Pacific. Due to internal progression, they are now seeking an experienced Product Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 + years’ Asset Management work experience including experience within an Investments Product Management role.
This role is multi-faceted and best suited for those with or are willing to develop strong technical knowledge and expertise related to the management of investment vehicles. You will be expected to drive a variety of different initiatives, provide in-depth research and analysis, and overcome obstacles whilst influencing and guiding functions throughout the organization that you interact with.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting a wide range of and/or complex product management activities associated with introduction, restructuring, merging and ongoing vehicle management of products, new share classes, or new vehicles
- Leading cross-functional implementations of product-related activities to ensure stakeholder readiness
- Conducting advanced research to understand competitive and internal positioning including fees and expenses
- Based on research and analyses, develop ideas for product development, enhancements, and/or expansions
- Researching the demands, risks, and regulatory environment of the applicable markets to guide product developments
- Creates a broad range of materials for review and inclusion in management presentations and product governance meetings, including boards
- Identifying and suggesting updates to business processes, procedures, and policies related to the products and investment vehicles
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant funds management product management experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Asset Management work experience
- CFA qualified or currently studying
- Understanding of operational infrastructure related to Australian unit trusts
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong understanding of the investment / regulatory & tax environment in Australia
