About the role
IMF Steel Construction is looking for a results-driven Production Coordinator to join our team at IMF’s our Rutherford Facility.
The Production Coordinator leads the planning, scheduling, and execution of all manufacturing operations within the workshop, in collaboration with the Production Manager.
The Production Coordinator will be instrumental in optimising workflow, managing resources, ensuring quality workmanship, through the life cycle of each project through the Rutherford workshop.
The motivation to help position IMF as the fabricator of choice, is an essential element of the role.
Key Responsibilities.
- Liaise with management, project managers and estimators to ensure on-time completion for all projects.
- Take an active role in workshop production planning.
- Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production scheduling.
- Assist in managing the allocation of resources, including manpower, tools, and equipment, to optimise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Procurement of project materials in line with production requirements.
- Oversee delivery of incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring these are recorded accurately and are received or delivered on time.
- Maintain high-quality standards by following and maintaining quality control processes, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring any repairs required meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve efficiency and operations whilst maintaining high quality standards.
- Provide project status reports to management.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Production Coordinator or a similar role in Steel Fabrication, encompassing the Mining, Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing sectors.
- Advanced understanding of fabrication and production processes.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office suite and CAD software.
- Possesses attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with advanced oral communication skills
- Multi-tasker with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and employees on a multitude of levels.
