About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Production Coordinator to join our team and support our Group Chief Winemaker and Production team with coordinating wine production, scheduling, general purchasing as well as bulk wine and dry goods logistics. This role will also perform the administrative and record keeping duties associated with the Production function. This position manages Handpicked Wines local and international wine production with support from winemaking, marketing and finance teams.
Reporting to the Group Chief Winemaker responsibilities include:
Production
- Work with Logistics to ensure international wine SKUs are freighted on completion and ensure SKU closure in a timely fashion so supply data accuracy is achieved.
- Reconciling and inspecting dry goods and finished goods received at the external contract bottling sites and internal wineries.
- Scheduling and booking freight movements for bulk wine and dry goods to and from internal and external sites.
- Production software data management: Ensure accurate bottling and dry goods purchase data capture in SAGE (supported by Finance)
Production Planning
- Develop production schedules with forecasting and demand planning (supported by Winemakers)
- Ensuring receivals and freight of dry goods and finished goods are in time with the weekly schedule for production runs.
- Updating production bottling information (receivals, movements, etc.) and ensuring records align with the scheduled production runs.
- Approving work orders for production runs and production instructions align with internal Handpicked processes.
- Creating work orders in ERP system and ensuring wine closures are completed in time or prior for release dates.
Purchasing
- Assist the winemaking site team managers to create and reconcile purchase orders for winemaking consumables, and winemaking assets.
Bottling and dry goods management are also crucial to the role including bottle schedule management, analysis and reporting, record keeping and address any issues during the process. As an environment conscious organization, this role will also maintain the relevant documents required for relevant organic bodies such Sustainable Wine Australia and APCO.
About you:
- Passionate about wine and the industry
- Have experience in production and/or scheduling.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and the challenges of having to meet deadlines and targets
- be a team player that enjoys solving problems and is solution oriented
- Exceptional organisational skills and proven ability to plan ahead and prioritise workload
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs primarily Excel, Word & Outlook and have experience with using accounting platforms or ERP systems.
- Experience working with Sage X3 is advantage
- Strong attention to detail
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with an interest in new technology and innovation
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work collaboratively both internal and external stakeholders
