The Production Leading Hand / Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production process in the FMCG industry, contributing to the delivery of high-quality products to consumers while meeting production targets and safety standards.
Our client is 100% Australian and is an innovator in the FMCG and Food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of team leadership, maintaining WH&S standards including the use of PPE and execute production in accordance with procedures and protocols.
Setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to employees. Organizing workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules. Overseeing and coaching employees.
Supervision and Coordination:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production line, ensuring adherence to schedules and production targets.
- Coordinate with production staff to assign tasks, monitor progress, and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.
Quality Control:
- Maintain strict quality control standards to ensure that all products meet the required specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of the production line to identify any deviations or defects and take corrective actions as necessary.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all production staff.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
Training and Development:
- Train new production staff on operating procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance the skills and performance of production team members.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Schedule routine maintenance tasks and coordinate with maintenance staff to address any equipment issues promptly.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the production line.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce waste.
Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all relevant stakeholders, including production staff, supervisors, and management.
- Generate regular reports on production performance, including output metrics, quality indicators, and any issues or challenges encountered.
