We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Production Manager to take our production team to the next level.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an energetic Production Manager to join our great Production Team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the production floor in accordance with planning and allocated resources as well as fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
This role also involves accountability for production and those associated costs including material/packaging usage, as well as managing the production team in accordance with allocated budgets and safety protocols.
Your main functions will include but not limited to:
- Responsible for daily production, monitoring plan attainment
- Liaise with warehouse discussing timeslots day to day trying to achieve a good service level
- Manage, train and develop Production Teams in Low-Risk Production Areas, High Care Production Areas and Packroom.
- To lead by example, promoting best practice on the factory floor in relation to GMP, food safety, people safety, production efficiency and quality.
- To assist the Chief Operating Officer in all production related matters, acting as key cover as required.
- To ensure all documentation and recording allocated as a responsibility of production teams is completed according to specified procedures inclusive of CCP, RCP, QCP monitoring in relation to site HACCP Plans
- Liaise with QA regarding quality and products consistency, together with compliance of HACCP
- To prepare and deliver reports in relation to your areas of control, as required.
- To provide production support for new product trials and site visits.
- Supporting every section utilising knowledge of machinery and troubleshooting
- To support and promote a RIGHT FIRST TIME APPROACH as a tool to controlling and minimising all types of costs.
To be a success in this role you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the FMCG industry
- Lean Six Sigma certification or Operations Management qualification advantageous
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
- Strong Leadership, Training & Development skills
- Sound reporting and analytical abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, especially in a diverse environment
- Self-motivated with good problem solving and decision making skills
- Open, energetic and flexible approach
