This role: 

Reporting the General Manager Operations & Supply Chain Australia, this is currently a Monday – Friday opportunity to lead the daily production operations for Baxters Foods. Working closely with a dedicated leadership and production team, you will be responsible for ensuring production processes are efficient whilst ensuring a safe workplace, food safety and quality standards are achieved. 

Most importantly, you will have a positive visible presence across the Baxters site. Your excellent people and communication skills will drive a happy, safe and engaged workplace. 

Key deliverables include: 

• Apply your leadership skills to engage all staff in their responsibilities & teamwork. 
• Drive process optimisation, enhancing efficiency and production quality.
• Foster a ‘safety first’ culture to ensure compliance with regulations, working closely with the Safety Co-ordinator and Health & Safety Committee. 
• Work collaboratively with the Quality & Technical Team to ensure Hygiene, Food Safety & Environmental Standards are always upheld in production.  
• Drive strategies for best practice manufacturing, continuous improvement and problem solving through team consultation and collaboration in initiatives. 
• Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Manager to ensure a skilled and trained Production Team, ensuring regular communication, culture & diversity is fostered, team and individual recognition & celebrations occur.
• Support performance management and change processes where necessary. 
• Role model a positive ‘can-do’ style by delivering on actions and building trusted relationships amongst peers and the team. 

You will require: 

• Demonstrated experience in a Production Manager or Supervisor level role, preferably within a Food Manufacturing FMCG Industry, although your leadership skills and communication style together with a willingness to learn our business are essential.
• A passion for production, collating data for analysing production efficiency, problem solving and applying best practice manufacturing standards.
• Knowledge applying OHS, Food Safety & Quality and Environment standards in production processes.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to confidently communicate and build relationships across a multi-cultural and multilingual workforce. 
• Demonstrated grit and resilience as well as the emotional intelligence to manage relationships, your own wellbeing, and be a professional role model for others.
• Attributes of a team player who is hands-on, with a can-do attitude to support the team and think outside the box!
