We are looking for another ingredient to add to our mix! You will be a key contributor to our mission by maintaining future-focus on production and innovation potential, while contributing to continuous improvements that drive improved product costs.
About you
Are you results-driven, experienced and hands on Production Manager to lead a successful production team to deliver high quality products? Do you want to be part of an integral team that drives accountable for delivering operational standards to recognised benchmarks and ensuring that all requirements are met in a safe and efficient manner.
You will be a strategic and commercial thinker, who is ambitious and passionate about achieving strong results, all whilst ensuring the health and safety of our workforce.
A day in the life… Production Manager
Reporting to the Mill Manager, key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Monitor and review production staff performance, line output increases and operational performance and identify, implement opportunities for improvements in production processes and procedures.
- Provide direction, leadership, support and guidance to all staff. Take ownership of manufacturing performance to meet site KPIs.
- Lead cultural change and actively develop/upskill your team including identifying any cross training or development opportunities
- Fault find and Identify key areas of improvement within manufacturing plan for example; operational employee training standards, efficiency in planning/ scheduling, review and implement SOP’s and CI platforms across the department, build a plan for future 5’s projects to drive a LEAN methodology.
- Control cost budgets and labor management across production
What will make you successful
- 5+ year’s experience in FMCG leading operations and production teams
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and influence senior stakeholders internal and external to the organisation.
- Strong people leadership capability with the ability adapt to achieve desired objectives.
- Strong coaching and team building capability.
- High levels of tenacity & resilience, with a results-orientated approach.
- A thorough attention-to detail and a sense of urgency paired with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to supervise others and to manage and evaluate work performance effectively and objectively.
- Identify and provide on the job training and development of employees by assessing the individual skills of workers.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience within a unionised environment.
- Flexible and resilient with a high sense of urgency and are customer centric in all that you do.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP (advantageous)
- You will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, problem solving, analysis, decision-making abilities.
