Ace Filters located in Kilsyth in Victoria and are seeking to employ a Production Manager with relevant experience to be in charge of the development and production of the company's filtration products.
This role will suit a highly organised, hands-on Production Manager who likes to come up with new ways of being more efficient.
The Role
This is a full time position with an annual salary of $75,000 plus superannuation, and will be based in the Kilsyth production plant.
The Responsibilities
- Establish and facilitate departmental procedures which in turn enhance the production and efficiency of the department., while supporting safety policies and procedures
- Implement, oversee and control the production schedule
- Supervise, review and revise crew scheduling, if required
- Monitor and regulate staffing needs to ensure optimum staffing levels are supporting business demands
- Analyse production, quality control and budgetary outcome of projects
- Oversee consumable and equipment stock and tracking programs for increased financial effectiveness
- Implement cost control programs or procedures
- Oversee, monitor and direct coordination and maintenance of equipment, vehicles and warehouse
- Audit and implement policies/procedures and production levels in the content processing department. This will also include warehousing/storage of all contents
- Perform job site visits to ensure quality of service and budgetary compliance
- Building and managing a production team
- Executing on the range decided by the Product Team with involvement in product ideas, design and concept
- Partaking in overseas sourcing & production trips overseas
- Understanding retail pricing strategies, materials, manufacturing costs and lead times in order to accurately price and develop products in appropriate timeframes
- Acting as the liaison between the Design/Product Teams and factories/suppliers
- Being in constant communication with factories and suppliers to ensure quality, lead times and budgets are met
- Ensuring products meet brand standards and that they are legally compliant in Australia
- Analysing products for defects and taking corrective action when needed
- Ensuring that the product database is maintained and updated accurately
- Sourcing and tracking feedback from stores on products, requirements and sales performance
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
The Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor degree in Commerce or Business discipline
- At least 6 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 6 years of experience in leading teams and managing staff
- At least 6 years of experience in managing budgets, reducing costs, and maximizing efficiency
- Proven experience in past roles in implementing continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Knowledge of production management principles, theories and processes
- High energy levels appropriate to a dynamic, fast paced work environment
- Ability to develop and implement innovative production solutions to achieve the most optimal and efficient production outcome
- Able to work independently and within a team setting under pressure
- Strong communication and organisational skills to build business relationship
- Possess critical and analytical thinking skills to lead a procurement department
