Sourcing an experienced Production Manager to join this well known agriculture family business located on the outskirts of Melbourne's South East in a fabulous country location, Nar Nar Goon.
Your background of working within the agriculture or FMCG space will enhance your ability to successfully lead the production team to great lengths.
Reporting to the General Manager, your strong leadership and people management skills will see you manage production teams on each line, inventory management and workforce planning.
Further duties include but not limited too:
- Liaise with reception for orders, transport timeslots, hire equipment, e.g. crates bins pallets, loading instructions.
- Liaise with inventory re pack outs and stock, end of day and monthly stock count
- Equipment count, when required, liaise with Office Manager
- Liaise with Maintenance Manager
- Liase with Office Manager on rostering and staffing numbers, any issues the staff
- To manage the supervision of all production lines in the factory. Including all Quality requirements to achieve product quality & safety. Ensure Production team completes pack out & traceability records.
- Review any quality problems & decide on any rework/regrade & consult General Manager on making decisions on any stock dumping etc.
- Ensure compliance with key quality control procedures, particularly of Finished Product Inspection & reporting and report to GM; keep the quality assurance team informed.
- Assign to each production line, appropriate number of Packers, Graders, Machine Operators and Production Supervisors. Liaise with Office Manager for staffing requirements.
- Arrange internal Production staff training.
- Adjust the staff throughout the day as required.
- Ensure work practices comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Provisions and liaise with Accountant for appropriate documentation.
- Seek clarification pertaining to all legal issues from HR via Office Manager in the interim
- Ensure that production staff are adequately trained & authorised for each task.
- Member of HACCP, Recall team & Crisis Management Team.
- Report in writing all breaches of QA, OH&S or reasonable behavioural standards
- Advise buyers re any stock requirements of produce & packaging.
- Encourage polite clear & professional communication within the whole company for work related issues.
- Ensure production checks & verify & records all inwards deliveries for accuracy & count as compared to Purchased orders. Provide records to Inventory on quantity & type of goods received. Provide instructions to Inventory to process the delivery & request for stickers etc. NB: The PM has the responsibility when an inwards delivery is made & determines who & when & how it’s to be unloaded.
- Stock control of Packaging, ordering and maintaining acceptable levels of packaging
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge in agriculture, horticulture, or other related fields.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- A proven track record in leadership, directing and supervising teams and being able to work with minimal supervision is highly valued
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgement are essential.
- Candidates must be self-driven.
- A valid driver's licence is required
- A valid forklift licence is acceptable
