THE ROLE:
As the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a small but dynamic team to achieve exceptional results. You will oversee manufacturing operations across various sectors, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role requires an energetic and driven individual who can inspire and support the team while introducing continuous improvements to our processes. Above all this role demands a customer-centric focus that ensures a positive customer experience at every stage of the design and delivery process.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and motivate a small team to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Oversee quoting and estimating processes to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for clients.
- Drive a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the production department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of products.
- Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyse production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a positive work environment where team members feel valued, empowered, and encouraged to excel.
- Serve as a liaison between the production team and upper management, providing regular updates on performance and challenges.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years proven experience in a production management/supervisory role, preferably in a component manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve their full potential.
- Proficiency in CAD software – AutoCAD/ Inventor. CAM experience would also be beneficial as well as NX CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion.
- Engineering or trade qualifications or a trade background in machining would be highly regarded.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standards (ISO9001/ ISO13485).
- Understanding/ability to quote and estimate job orders as well as experience in overseeing a preventative maintenance program.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
