The Role
Advanced Manufacturing Queensland is seeking Production Manager will work with stakeholders to ensure efficient operation of the manufacturing environment, you will have overall responsibility of the labour budget, production operation, production planning, coordination and quality control of the production process. Working closely with the managers you will be part of the Leadership team who will communicate constantly to ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing environment. You will ensure that products are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. This is a hands-on operational role rather than a managerial/strategic role with a focus on implementing and driving Lean Manufacturing principles. The role will require commitment and a pro-active, flexible approach.

Supervises:
Team Leaders and Production line teams
Key Role Function:
- You will be responsible for managing the manufacturing area and line manage all the employees assigned within the manufacturing area, including, Line production process and the rear parking.
- Overseeing the production process, Maintaining the production schedule.
- Ensuring that the manufacturing is cost effective by understanding and reacting to the wider needs of the business versus those of the manufacturing area.
- Ensure that the efficiencies of all equipment and employees are monitored and actions taken to keep them at optimum levels.
- Making sure that products are produced on time (DIFOT) or pulse and are to the agreed quality standards.
- Working out the human and material resources needed and insure they are in place.
- Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
- You will be required to ensure that the production process, including policies, procedures, work and check instructions are up to date and followed by all employees completing tasks.
- You will work as part of the leadership team.
- You will support and lead the continuous improvement activities within the team.
- You will ensure that pulse over run and scrap levels are recorded and managed to meet current targets.
- Monitor and measure results of initiatives, fine-tuning or taking corrective action as necessary.
- To ensure that safety and quality are a key element of the manufacturing culture.
- To ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained and improved.
- Ensure the visual boards are up to date and correct attendance at morning meetings.
- Ensure all employees are clocked on, all overtime is approved, and time sheets approved daily and ready for weekly pay process.
- Build and develop relationships at all levels across the manufacturing function in order to spark ideas for continuous improvement.
- Actively drive problem solving within the manufacturing team and wider business.
- Working with management to implement the company's policies, procedures and goals.
- Full responsibility to ensure that health and safety guidelines implemented and are followed by all
- Conduct regular performance reviews for everyone in the manufacturing team.
- Identifying training needs for the team through the skills matrix and training plan to track the delivery of training.
- You will be expected to collaborate in other tasks and activities that will be out of your main responsibilities.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
- 10+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Automotive manufacturing highly regarded
- Experience in managing people
- Exposure and confidence in leading Lean Manufacturing process
