About the Role
Kwinana Pigment Plant is a refinery in the Kwinana Industrial Area, that has had over 30 years in production of Titanium pigments for customers domestically and overseas.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Production Operations Manager for a full-time position based at our Kwinana Pigment Plant. Reporting to the Site Director and managing a team of approximately 60 employees including Engineers, Coordinators, Supervisors, Schedulers and Operators, the Operations Manager is responsible for the safe production of our Titanium based pigment product.
This role is a senior position and a key member of the site leadership team. The role includes significant scope to maintain and improve the safety, environment, quality production, and business performance aspects of the Kwinana operation.
Key accountabilities include:
- Proactively develop, manage and lead production employees to operate a safe plant by ensuring plant procedures, task instructions, and risk assessments are adhered to as part of routine operations
- Ensure the production plan integrates seamlessly with the maintenance schedule, ensuring production resources are aligned and resourced to execute the maintenance schedule
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards and regulations
- Oversee the department’s forecasting, planning and execution activities to ensure budgeted production and financial targets are achieved
- Ensure process optimization, quality control and continuous improvement initiatives are executed
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- A qualification in science or chemical engineering is desirable, however refinery based operations management experience is equally valued
- Be committed to safety and have a history of leading by example in relation to safety standards and performance
- A strong communicator and able to effectively lead and performance manage a large team
- Have the drive and commitment to respond to the needs of shift teams on a continuous roster
- Be an enthusiastic leader looking to drive change, be goal focussed, and achieve extraordinary outcomes
- Understanding of complex processing flowsheets, and Major Hazard Facilities is a bonus, but we are looking more for your leadership capabilities in managing teams to great performance
- Understanding of Operational Excellence practices and techniques (5S, Lean, Planned Maintenance, Visual Management, Kaizen, Six Sigma etc)
