Logistics/Production Manager
Company overview: NTS is a leading producer and exporter of inputs for regenerative farming, including liquid fertilisers, beneficial microbial inputs and certified organic products. We export to over 20 locations. Our manufacturing plant, conference centre and offices are based in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast (QLD). The successful applicant may need to relocate to this beautiful part of the world.
Overall objective: Nutri-Tech Solutions (NTS) is seeking an experienced Logistics/Production Manager responsible for stock control, purchasing, receipting, import and export logistics, and coordination of production.
Reporting to: CEO
Hours: 8 am to 4:06 pm
Job Description:
- NTS has a large and diverse product offering. The applicant will be respossible for purchasing of all required items for the company. The purchasing is to be in conjunction with stock takes and forecasting (working closely with the BDM), including liaison with suppliers regarding pricing, deliveries, orders, new products and quotation. This position is required to initiate stock takes at frequent interval, review seasonal trends and base purchases on these figures.
- Develop and maintain minimum stock levels for all products, packaging and equipment required.
- Sources and maintain suppliers of quality products at competitive prices.
- Computer literacy - particularly relevant to inventory management and customer service. Ensure order tracking sheet is kept up to date, Ensure Exonet (the account software) stock notes are always up to date.
- Assist Accounts Payable with supplier invoice query resolution.
- Develop effective staff and supplier relationships and communication. Ensure all staff are kept up to date.
- Assist in further development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures to ensure the system runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Initiation and follow through of all applications for import permits.
- Assist the Company with any tasks that arise which may not directly fall under this job description.
- Discuss with appropriate staff members stock requirements for seasons and/or special events or industry changes.
- Managing and coordinating production schedule and the complex associated logistics.
- To ensure all team members are aware of, and follow, safety procedures and to work with the NTS Workplace Health and Safety Adviser to improve on safety in the workplace.
- To work alongside the Export Manager to ensure all international orders leave NTS in the correct manner – abiding by all country requirements etc.
- To ensure the Production factories are kept in good working order, shelves are stocked correctly/safely and all work areas are tidy and free from clutter and potential dangers.
- To ensure all Dangerous and Hazardous Goods are labelled and stored correctly and handled appropriately by all team members.
- To ensure all NTS product leaves the premises in excellent condition – including cleanliness of containers, labels cut and placed correctly and paperwork in order
- To ensure all production batches are prepared and QA tested by the Chemist/Laboratory Assistant.
- Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen issues
- Work closely with production teams to communicate production schedules and priorities
- Maintain the Bill of Materials in the database.
