My Pathway Disability Supports is seeking expressions of interest for a dedicated Program Coordinator to join our team. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of our Remote Disability Supports teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality community-based and individualised services within the NDIS sector.
The position entails regular travel to remote areas, immersing yourself within the community for a minimum of 2 weeks per month, with the flexibility to return home on weekends during those weeks. About the role:
The Program Coordinator will support our remote teams, ensuring high quality community-based support services are delivered to My Pathway Disability Supports clients.
The role has a strong focus on developing a local workforce to lead the delivery of our services autonomously.
As part of this role the candidate will need to be flexible and open to learning about the culture of our First Nations people in remote locations. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the importance of respecting and adapting to the different ways of life within the community and be willing to take on any challenges that may arise during the development of the team.
This role is suited for individuals with a friendly, helpful, and kind attitude, who can communicate effectively and provide creative solutions to challenges, while also demonstrating adaptability and strong problem-solving skills to effectively carry our tasks.
While previous involvement with remote Indigenous communities is advantageous, it is not essential. However, a candidate's commitment to mentor and foster the growth of our First Nations team members is essential.
Key responsibilities also include; implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and quality of services, ensuring financial accuracy and accountability, and implementing strategies to support program growth.
What you’ll need to be considered:
- Readiness and capacity to travel often to and reside in remote regions.
- Demonstrated staff management/development along with proven leadership skills and experience.
- Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for people with a disability.
- Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability Services or similar, or equivalent experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively communicate with staff and clients and their families/carers.
- Proven ability to effectively time manage senior team members and service delivery in remote settings.
- Ability in exercising initiative, time management, working independently and as a team.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in managing conflict in the workplace.
- Ability to complete written reports.
- Demonstrated ability to use IT systems including Microsoft Office.
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s Licence.
- Hold or willing to obtain current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
